MC Chat

This was an Android app that allowed you to connect to Minecraft servers and chat with people in-game without actually having to run the game or play it.

The way this worked was that it would pretend to be a minecraft client in the background, connecting to the server as if you just logged in on your home pc. You needed to be careful because if your character wasn’t in a safe space, you could get killed.

There were 2 app tiers: Free and Pro. The free was ad-supported, while the Pro removed the ads and added a few extra features.

I maintained the app for a while but it started getting harder to maintain. Eventually I decided to stop updating it anymore. By that time, a bunch of copycat apps had already appeared which looked and probably worked better than mine anyway.

This was the first time I went heavy on Java and the Android ecosystem.
